Session Description: This keynote will discuss the growth in broadband usage, social media adoption, new monetization strategies, the influx of content moving online and consumer demand. There has been an immense increase in the usage of social media to drive consumer and business related applications. Tim Napoleon, Media and Entertainment Product Line Director for Akamai Technologies, will discuss how this phenomena has occurred much faster than expected and how the future of broadband usage, consumer demand and global audiences are continuing to converge.
Tim Napoleon has an accomplished record as a marketing and business professional in the online and media and entertainment industries. He is presently the Media and Entertainment Product Line Director for Akamai Technologies, providing services to digitally deliver music, movies and video, games, sports, and news for businesses such as Apple iTunes, Major League Baseball, XM Satellite, MTV, CNET, and Newscorp. Prior to Akamai, Napolean worked closely with Adobe to launch the Flash Video Streaming service at a content delivery startup. He launched Pacific Life's online web portal which supported several billion dollars in transactions and provided consulting services to a number of high tech and media & entertainment businesses. Napoleon has authored multiple industry white papers regarding digital entertainment and online video. He is an avid supporter of the arts by volunteering on several independent films screened at Sundance and producing a DVD series on classic drawing skills. Napolean is an MBA graduate from the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business, and a communications graduate from the University of California at Fullerton.
